WE are STRONG SUPPORTERS and Members of the 10 steps program http://www.ashgi.org/tensteps/tensteps.htm Breeding dogs, is our hobby, and something we take very seriously. This does include our litters produced here AND litters we may be a part of by offering our dogs to a outside female. Our primary goal is to do everything possible to Produce Puppies, that are good examples of the Australian shepherd, and are sound in type, temperament and health. We will not be part or contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. We do choose to be selective in who we may allow to use our males.. We expect the MINIMUM of health testing and breed involvement. This is not to be a snob, but we are NOT interested in breeding for the sake of breeding. Stud packets are Available by request. Fresh Chilled, or Natural service may be available If you are unclear about anything FEEL FREE to ask, We are always happy to talk answer any questions someone may have. |
All Puppies sired by our males must be sold on a written contract. This must include, 1)Lifetime breeder take back clause if the owner should no longer be able to keep the dog. 2)All pups placed into companion homes on Spay/neuter contracts and or limited registration. Bitches Qualifications #1 Have a exceptional ROCK SOLID temperament #2 Exceptional Health Overall General health (free of Allergies/Easy Keeper) a negative brucellosis test within the last 30 days #3 Must be titled or working on titles (conformation, agility, herding, tracking, obedience, service dog etc) Your female must meet the AKC/ASCA breed standards-Free of disqualifying faults, Have sound conformation, and be a good example of the breed. If not titled expect further evaluation by us in person or videos and or pictures. #4 MUST BE REGISTERED WITH either AKC/ASCA (Dual preferred) or another accepted international registry. You MUST have a 5 generation pedigree for us review. #5 Health Certification Current -REQUIRED- A) WE require a OFA number or PENN HIP Evaluation for Hips B) Current Clear CERF exam for Eyes. If bitch is not profiled for the HSF4 Cataracts mutation eye clearance must be within 6 months of date of breeding. C)Elbow Certification d) documentation on other testing done. FMI on each test we require. Hip Certification http://www.ashgi.org/articles/fact_chd.htm OFA- has certified the dog as FREE of HIP DYSPLASIA and issued a certificate and number, FAIR,GOOD or EXCELLENT. PennHip Evaluation a Laxity score no greater than .5 and to the left of the percentile median. Prelim evaluations By the OFA will be considered on a case by case basis Eye Certification http://www.ashgi.org/articles/eyes_you_your_dog.htm your dog must have a eye exam by a ophthalmologist (CERF EXAM) within the last 12 months. 6 months or less is required in bitches that have not been profiled for the cataracts mutation. A comprehensive annual exam by a specialist with a written report will be considered on a case by case basis.
