Welcome to MuddyFeet Australian Shepherds Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA) Australian Shepherd Club of New England (ASCNE) MuddyFeet Aussies is located in southern New Hampshire. My family has always had dogs, I grew up with a sled dog team, and then various dogs throughout the years. My involvement in Australian shepherd's began back in 1985, with a black bi female, I found her after a long search for a breed with the energy drive and abilities to compete in obedience, Jr show and this new sport of dog agility. As with many that have started this special relationship with this unique breed, found that no other breed would do, and we where hooked. We have actually have been involved, owned and trained with the breed exclusively for over 20 years now. My goodness how time as flew by.. In 2005 we Registered our kennel name MUDDYFEET and had our first official Muddyfeet litter. About us and our dogs All of our dogs are "family dogs " First and foremost. Our dogs live with us in our house and we spend a considerable amount of time, training, going to shows, classes, hanging out on the couch and interacting with our dogs every single day. They are our "pets" not just a dog for us to show, breed or own. We are active in several venues with our dogs, because we enjoy it and it is part of our hobby. This is our primary interest so we do not maintain a Kennel full of dogs, or breed numerous litters a year. We generally only breed on occasion, and only when we are looking to add another dog to our family, and future breeding program. We raise our dogs/puppies on a combination of high quality kibble and raw diet. This is to complement our efforts to maximise a dogs health though careful breeding by ideal nutrition and care. We also test all our dogs used in our breeding program for several issues of concern . This includes, Eye certification, Hip certification either by the OFA or PennHip, Certified free of immune mediated thyroid disease (OFA) cardiac (OFA) Patella (OFA) Elbows (OFA) and several genetic marker test for such issues as MRD1 Gene (drug sensitivity) and CEA (collie eye anomaly) and PRA (progressive rental Atrophy) In 2008 Animal Health Trust in England announced the results of the Cataracts study in Aussies, A commercial DNA test is now available, We Test ALL our dogs used in our breeding program to know their status. FMI see our health page The purpose of our website is not only to showcase our dogs, but provide an informative website on the breed in general. Breeding, health, training, are all included along with individual information on our dogs, pictures and litter info.
